Activated carbon is the material obtained by activating carbon or carbon-containing material, which is the assembly of amorphous carbon with large inner surface area and strong absorption force.
Absorbing ability of activated carbon depends on specific surface area. It is a porous material where 1g of activated carbon contains the surface area of 1,000~1,700㎡.
Activated carbon is used to purify air owing to its excellent property of absorbing bad smell or gas with the inner cross sectional area. |
