Filtration dust collection system (Bag Filter Dust Collector System)
|
|
One of air pollution prevention systems that filters out or prevents emission of a variety of granular substance
in the air or hazardous particles contained in the gas emitted by plant, etc.
Filtration methods include surface filtration method where dust is attached to the surface of filtering material, and depth filtration method where dust is collected in the textile layer of filter cloth made in the form of sack or flat plate type using the filtering materials in thick layers such as glass fiber, cotton textile (i.e. bag filter).
At the beginning, dust is separated by the filtration action of filtering material, but, as time goes by, layer of dust collected on the surface of filtering material bridges the holes of filtering material causing far denser state resulting in high removal efficiency. Normally in case the size of dust reach 1.0μm or more, the efficiency of 99% up will appear.

Dust collection principle |
|
The principle is that, when polluting gas pass through filter cloth, dust particles are separated/captured from the flow of exhaust gas by the action such as inertial impaction, direct interception, diffusion, coulomb's force, gravity, etc. with the textile consisting of redundant members filter medium according to its size (particle size or mass) and momentum (velocity). |

Disadvantage of the system |
|
Difficult to remove explosive, adhesive and hygroscopic dust.
Use of redundant members filter medium is limited depending on gas temperature (Improper at 250 degree C or higher).

|
In case of selecting the filter, it requires to consider several factors of material. For example, it includes selection based on the operating temperature of filter in use, consideration according to the dust property, consideration depending on treated pressure, consideration depending on resistance to acid and alkali, consideration depending on moisture contents, etc. Like this, material must be selected based on various complex factors.
